I posted a long rant about the embarrassment of the Men's hockey team and all that jazz

And a few minutes ago it came to mind

Even if Orange Shitfuckle called up the Women's team, they'd probably not have taken the call, or that I doubt he'd have even thought to call them.

They'd have flatly refused to go see him at the WH anyway. And he would have probably spent 40 minutes crying about it at his Shit on the Union performance speech about it.

I seriously doubt any of the women would have spent half a second even thinking "oh yeah I'd love to meet a US President", let alone him.

If this was 2016 I wouldn't be at all surprised if he (bragged about) trying to sneak into the locker room to "congratulate" them, since he's so fond of sneaking into the backstage of his beauty pageants so he can leer at and grope young models.

It's very much a good thing the Women's team didn't get to go to the WH. If they were crazy enough to have shown up, I have no doubt in my mind it would have been a horrendous embarrassment because he would've put on such a pathetic, disgusting performance and said the most disgusting, idiotic comments and "jokes"
Be it 2016 or 2026.

Had the "ballroom" actually been built, I also have no doubt he would have (demanded) they show up in evening gowns and stand in line to get the chance to dance with him.

(barf)

Apparently he wasn't even in the room when the Men's team showed up. He probably had to be hand-fed and have his diaper changed a few times. And that the team was served cold McDonalds. because of course.

The one photo I saw, the look of sheer disappointment on the faces of some of them. Oh, Schadenfreude.
Apparently there's been 4-5 names of players who flatly refused to attend. So, good on them.
I hope to hear more of that but I doubt it.

Jeremy Swayman, goalie on the team and of the Bruins, was of course asked, eventually, about the phone call et al after a practice when he got back to Boston, looked a bit uncomfortable and essentially muttered that it wasn't the highlight and possibly showing some "regret". He tried to hammer on repeatedly about how much of an honor it was to represent the US and put on a big fight and acknowledging the Whole World is watching.

Yeah. We are.

Meanwhile, back to the Women's team, apparently Flavor Flav begged to host them in Vegas and they apparently had a celebrity/world renown chef cook for them and such.
I'm.....Still a bit baffled it had to be Flavor Flav. (gags)
Another hack and womanizer who got famous for a fake reality TV show that somehow became a train wreck hit show.

I just don't know anymore.

If Hugh Hefner was still alive and tried to pull that off.....I mean.....There's not that much difference is there?

Maybe I'm sort of "glad" I've been so burned out of all of this stuff and sorta-kind numb enough to filter it just enough through my head.

At this point, I think it would be tremendous if Canada invited the Women's team to Montreal.

Meanwhile, the Boston Fleet, the Women's pro team, has apparently completely Sold Out seats for their next 4 games.

Thankfully we did not get the 40+ inches Providence has. I feel really bad for my friend down in Riverside. They put a yardstick in the yard (heh.....irony)....and it disappeared under snow cover by about 3PM and I think it's just stopped snowing, finally.

That beats their previous snow record which was 24 inches, in 1978. And I think is now the most amount of snow they've ever had on record.

Another RI friend in Coventry said he'd been without power since 3AM, and the town plow finally came by around 6PM, he noted that it did exactly what happened with the previous big storm, showed up late, got stuck in the snow, and buried his driveway after he spent hours clearing it.

Here in Worcester we got at least a foot, I'm seeing 15 inches in some reports.

That's on top of the standing 15 some-odd inches left from the big storm a few weeks ago.

It's just like 2015 where there is no where left to shovel it all, and all they can do is just push the snow into ever-bigger piles, blocking parking spaces...and neighbors just shovel the snow out into the street, so if/when the plow does come again, it's just going to be pushed back into berms that'll block their cars and pile up their parking spaces.

Took me about an hour and a half. Driver's side of my car was pretty much clear, But the passenger side, "downhill" (as I am forced to park on the visitors' area at the "end" of the road that's on the north-facing side of the building, someone parked their car in my "usual" spot, and hasn't un-buried it for the past few weeks)
Anyway, the passenger side had about a foot. This is also the first time I've had a full foot of snow sticking up from the tailgate on the Outback.

Somehow, about a half-foot of snow ended up UNDER the car, almost halfway the length. What. Although thankfully the Outback has the ground-clearance so it's probably not a big deal, but I pulled most of it out anyway. I was also "lucky-sorta" in that the passenger side front, facing the building, the snow pile was low enough I could throw it without too much effort. I started with the driver's side earlier but after 2 feet in of nearly 2 foot high, dense snow, and trying to throw it above my shoulders up and over the existing berm, I ended up going the opposite direction, shoveling the snow towards the back of the car, and then shovel-full at a time, carrying it along the passenger side to throw it over the lower berm.

Probably more work than was needed but I really didn't want to risk tweaking out my back again.
I also took 2 Tylenol the second I got back inside, just in case. Although my back feels OK, sore, to be expected, but not the ever-tightening, clenching "Uh oh this isn't good" feeling from last time.

I managed to get back inside in enough time to shower and change and get ready for a zoom meeting for MOP but then saw a bunch of texts saying "eeeeh let's just move to next Monday", like 2 minutes before the start of the meeting. Welp, don't need to tell me twice! I'll take it.

Seems like we get these Whopper storms at least once every couple of years.
Oh, but climate change is a myth.

Woke up this morning feeling like ass. But I think it's just my usual morning groggy that's now gone.

Muses_realm says she's feeling a little sick. So has no interested to venture out to Springfield for the Knox 250th event.

I had been planning on it for weeks. But, I hear from my college friend Aaron in W. Springfield it's pretty bad out there, they got 3-4 inches and now it's slush. More snow expected around noon until the early evening. 1-3 inches.

I just don't feel like doing it.

The roads in Woo look fine. I'm seeing pavement emerge out of the snow coating.

But, I also know it's going to snow again later.

I also know this is WHY I have an Outback. But I'm also almost 50 and with the bad back, although I think I'm now back to about 98% good. I have probably some false-confidence with the 2019 Outback being able to laugh at snow and slush, I don't think I've ever really had much sliding or anything it couldn't handle.

But I do remember when the 2007 crashed & died in similar snowy-icy conditions around this time of year, back like 10 years ago. (and I still think the brakes were compromised after the multi-car pileup it was in a week before that) The 2009 seemed to do better but had its sketchy moments, although that may have been more because the tires were worn out in its last 2 years. And it was never the same once the head gasket got replaced twice and the sparks blew and wrecked the cat converter in its last year with me.

And, I'm also not obligated to be outside in Springfield for this commemoration. I'm not being paid to be there. So if I don't HAVE TO be driving in meh weather, and I don't HAVE TO be at the event.....Do I HAVE TO still go?

The event is coming to Worcester on the 31st and it's at the Antiquarian Soc. So, I WILL make a concerted effort to be there. It's only 10 mins down the road instead of an hour... Unless it snows like a foot....Which is certainly possible this time of year.

One maybe sorta "good" thing with Icis / Icetsapo patrolling the streets

Haven't seen or heard anything from Jehovah Witnesses for a little while now.

you'd think they'd be ALL OVER those Tacti-cool wearing SS cosplayer cocksuckers to "save" them

although they might also BE in the goon squad since there's that whole thing they yammer on about being the Chosen People in the Kool Kids Klub and how the rest of us heathens are all destined for firefly hell or whatever. Any chance to purge the world of others and the un-savable.

So apparently Scott Adams just died from complications with Prostate cancer.

Fuck cancer. Always.

But at the same time, he quickly became an insufferable, irritating, maga-hat-wearing apologist and a covid-denier, etc etc. So, fuck that guy.

Yes, Dilbert had its amusing moments and a mirror to the Corporate Hellscape that was destined for many of us, with no retribution and few would manage to survive. But. It also quickly became....Exhausting and too close to reality.

Maybe that's what radicalized him. Knowing he got to an end-point / brick wall where nothing he could do to make the Corporate Takeover and Bending us over a barrel seem really "amusing" or poke fun at it to effect any kind of change. Seems like the harder he tried to expose the reality and try to put a funny spin on it, the more the actual corporate creeps took notes and made it company policy.

Oh Noes and Anyways.

Why does he want to go to war against the world now?

Doesn't he want to wait a little for his BIG BEAUTIFUL BATTLESHIPS to be built first?

So....Master & Commander? Hah, more like Asster and Demander
