I just got this on LinkedIn and notification on gmail (I gotta turn that off, like 50 emails a day)

the profile says NYC.
but I have no connections / 3rd level
But what's really standing out to me is the last line
"Do you have a better way to contact me?"
What?
Unfortunately (for LinkedIn) I refuse to buy into the Premium service so I have no idea if this profile has even looked at my profile, and totally missed the "how to contact" options
But more to the point, why the fuck should I bend over backwards to contact them
if they're looking to "explore potential collaboration opportunities through communication"
they should be trying a little harder to be more friendly and inviting and more....Communicative.
I tried quickly searching on the goog to see if it's a known scam or whatever.
There's at least 3 top results for that name in Obituaries.
No one by that name in NYC that I saw. Although the name and the job titles as the LinkedIn profile did pop up on the query. but that doesn't necessarily mean anything.
Don't worry I'm not going to respond to the message.
And yes, I know LinkedIn is a garbage pile.
And I probably should remove myself from it and FB or just not use Linked.
But yet, I still post updates and upcoming events on Linked. Not even sure why.
It's not like every day, maybe once a week I'll go on and take a look, and maybe post a thing or two.
It only takes me a few moments, I don't spend more than I think 5 minutes on there.
(probably because I "pre scan" all the updates from the 50 email notifications a day sent to my gmail)
Maybe two or three connections sends me a birthday or work anniversary note.
I haven't even touched any of the discussion groups for probably 6-7+ years.
burned out on FB groups and pages [professional / troll] commenters I know it's as useful as opening a toilet full of lactose hellscape diarrhea mixed with dead skunk and taking a big whiff.
