doom scrolling and overused words
Mar. 14th, 2026 07:43 amLate Breaking Bad News Unprecedented Devastating Shocking
Latest Bombshell
I am so burned out of seeing headlines with words like this.
I keep seeing "bad news for trump" or something similar
this time it was about some YT podcast show that now has 450k viewers of something, from this anti-trump guy.
OK, fine, that's cute. But what does that do.
Nothing.
As much as I'd like to say I appreciate Meidas Touch and LincolnProject other orgs, I am so fucking tired of reading "more bad news for trump" or "latest scathing" or "devastating"
Yet the fucker is still alive and kicking and still destroying everything and it's making the rest of the World suffer and angry and we may have gone far beyond the point of recovery, and if it's not that he's spawning a knockoff clone elsewhere in the World ready to help fuck everything up somewhere else
Every motherfucking Day it's another motherfucking dumpster fire and another mile down this endless fucking pit and it just will not stop.
And Congress and the ones who COULD take action and actually put grandpa to bed doesn't
I've reached the point where every post about how "devastating" this and that is for trump, is like every motherfucking brain diarrhea truthsocial post or the daily bullshittery and dumpster fire he puts on.
It feels like the same thing. Feels like the same false-promises and lies and nothingburgers that we've been firehosed with for the past 20 years.
I never thought there would be a point in (my) lifetime where "If it bleeds it leads" would become old-fashioned and "shocking" wouldn't be enough. I still can't quite believe I fooled myself thinking that was the "low" point in our society and daily news cycle culture, and I had thought we might have hit that bottom near the end of Obama's term, because it seemed like some of us in the US had gotten so exhausted from the daily bullshit from Congress against him, etc, that some of us were finally starting to push back and "genuine good news" (lack of a better term) or "decent" news and a push towards "local" and "homegrown" news and content in (newspaper) media was finally starting to happen.
Oh, how fucking wrong I was.
No hope in having hope.
