on my drive home I had on NPR for the first time in a while

they had some sort of report about libraries are scrambling to delete or remove several offerings on their e-book catalogs from a national vendor where those books are horrendously racist or anti-science and conspiracy-theory-laded bullshit. But people are checking them out anyway and the librarians are afraid it will bring about massive misinformation and it's "dangerous"

so in my silly thinking

...Why not just categorize all of these bullshit titles as "Fiction".

isn't that the secret power of a Librarian? They can place a book in whatever shelf they damn-well please?
How many times have I been in a library or bookstore and have found Historical Fiction Novels in between actual History texts and research books. Many. Times.

I suppose I could move them to the Fiction or other sections on my own but I don't necessarily want to get in trouble/get caught by other patrons doing it.

e-books are of course a complicated problem. They only exist online, so, much more difficult to move them to the Fiction section or heck why not the Banned Books category on the webpage.

On a related side note I sometimes have this idea to write a "science" textbook with a clickbait title about exposing the Real Truth or whatever, looking at all of this Idiot-Science, with an image of a Flat Earth on the cover or something cheeky like that, and at the end of each chapter and Final Conclusion, spell out in large sized font THIS IS BULLSHIT and THIS IS NOT SCIENCE and YOU ARE BEING FOOLED, etc etc.

(more in reality I >do< have an idea to make my own Voynich Manuscript and a Codex Seraphinianus)
