palusbuteoThe other day I was sitting in the backyard of the "Hacienda" (what I'm calling our Air BNB house) on my ipad
and all of a sudden I hear this "Cronk!" sound, look over at the wall & hedge row, and all of a sudden, this
Road Runner hops up, bounces over and lands about 4 feet in front of me, looks at me, bobs it tail
"Hi there, Road Runner!" I say
It starts to bob a bit towards the hot tub/pool and out of my sight, as I'm frantically trying to switch to Photo and trying to not scare it off
"No wait! Don't move I want to take your photo!!" I tell it
It bounces up on the stairs to the hot tub, looks over its shoulder at me as I'm trying to sneak around the side of the tub, and then bounds off over the other wall (on the front of the house) and across the road to a patch of dirt & shrubs across the way and off it goes.
It was Super Cool and I was Sqeeing. I've only seen vids and photos of them, since of course they do not live anywhere outside the Southwest.
I did manage to get a photo, I'm sorry I can't post it on here, still haven't quite figured out what I'm doing wrong on DW.
This morning I decided to name it "Shelby", for reasons.
(after Carroll Shelby, racecar driver and designer of the Cobra roadster, where my Dad built a replica kit-car of the Daytona Coupe variant a little while before moving out to PNW, and that's the only reason I know Shelby by name)
