So, really, check your phony rage, yanno?

Some thoughts about the whole Lizzo & Magic Crystal Flute thing.
1. I'm not ure it was a good idea to play an antique instrument
However
2. If there was anyone I'd entrust to be able to handle the instrument like a fucking professional and with a high degree of respect and care, it would be someone like Lizzo who has a LOT of experience and is highly regarded in the playing of such an instrument
And
3. The (conservators) entrusted with the instrument and its care and conservation I am Most Certain would not just hand the thing to anyone and I'm sure there were many Meetings figuring our the logistics and balancing the potential risks / risk assessments. They are, of course, also Highly Experience Professionals and don't decide things lightly.
4. It's not like she played the entire concert with the instrument, so the potential damage was pretty minimal, I would think. She blew a couple of notes. And then she Stopped. It's almost as if she didn't want to, I dunno, tempt fate or potentially damage it, or something.

Also
I seem to remember some major anniversary or some such happened where David Gilmour was allowed to play the first Stratocaster ever made (?) and again, if there was anyone in the Music World who I'd entrust to respectfully handle such an artifact, it would be someone who made his career from playing that instrument. (and yeah I may be a little biased b/c David Gilmour but I digress)....I also seem to recall that afterwards he admitted he was Nervous AF and didn't want to do any damage to it, even when trying to tune it.
Although
I seem to remember decades ago archaeologists had excavated an ancient Egyptian instrument and someone got tasked with trying to "play" it and there was a bunch of controversy about that, too. (although not nearly as bad as a >gasp< female black woman with professional experience playing a musical instrument OMG the World is clearly Ending >mocking sarcasm<)
And
It's not like she demanded to play it like some other celebrities who demanded they get to wear an antique dress and damaged it permanently only for the selfish purpose to wear an antique dress for the attention of doing do, because they felt they were special-status as a "celebrity" to have special-status to do that and get away with it.
