Addendum on Snow White

Unsurprisingly, I went to wikipedia and online sites to read more up on the background of the story
Also unsurprisingly, it's one of the Grimm fairy tales (For some reason I had forgot that it was, I was thinking it was a stand-alone tale from 16th century Germany, but turns out it's like 1790s-1812)
There is apparently several variations/versions of this tale throughout the world.
One I was reading about, the Italian version (Bella Venezia)
the evil queen has a witch make a poisoned hairpin and when the dwarves discover her body, they bury her in a hollow tree. And then the Prince is on a hunt and the dogs sniff out the body. When they dress her up to give her a proper burial, they discover the pin, remove it, and poof, she's alive, and also poof, they marry.
The Grimm/Original version has the witch make three attempts, one with a silk boddice that nearly suffocates her, then a poisoned hair comb, then the coma-inducing apple.
I know, I know, Grimm tales are not supposed to make a lot of sense and go way beyond reality.
But JFHCPolarBears, this is some seriously fucked up shit right here.
...And then there's more awful stories like the real Pinnochio. Ever since I read about this / the original tale, I refuse to watch the Disneyfied version, not only because it's a terrible movie by itself, but, the whole story is seriously fucked up, and I'm not sure how they justified trying to sugar-coat such a story.
(Spoiler Alert)
The ragged Fox Thief and (goon) that befriend Pinnochio, lure him into the forest and they Fucking Hang Him from a Tree so they can then rob his body. But since he's a (fake)boy and poor, they just leave him hanging. But, Pinnochio is also a Total Asshole in the book version. But still not exactly deserving it but still Fuck Around and Find Out at Level 11.
Yeah. Messed Up.
Anyway.
Snow White. Yeah, the background and animated layering/synching is very good.
If anything, Disney has always gotten that done Right, as well as this innate ability to use a font/typestyle that absolutely FITS the production, even their Live Action stuff, in their heyday, was just top-notch.
This morning I had a really interesting thought about SW7D and aspects of the story, but sadly I completely forgot about it. Oh well
What movies did you watch as a kid and re-watch as an adult and both viewings it was an awful or unflattering experience?
