palusbuteoNPR had a thing on this afternoon talking about Satellite Surveillance and how ridiculously detailed and ever-present is has become in the last couple of years.
"They can see 10 sq cm from SPACE!"
"There are sat's that take pictures of all of the land spaces on Earth once every 10 seconds every day"
"there are all kinds of radio and phone tracing going on, not just by the US but fOrIegN EnTiTieS
"this is how they're (US) tracking Russian troop and vehicle movements"
"researchers managed to discover a "hidden" US Air Base in the middle of Africa that no one was supposed to know about"
"They're using AI software to look for specific features like new building construction, runways, and other kinds of "movement" so if an enemy decides to build a new military base, we'll know about it within 10 hours"
"pretty soon no one will be able to go anywhere without some surveillance company knowing about it"
"There are people who are being stalked with hidden tracking devices that can be bought for $29!"
...And yet, despite all of this surveillance, we still "don't know" what happened on Jan 6.
....And yet, what happened to all of those "lost" votes
.....Still can't find Jimmy Hoffa
......And people like Musk and Bezos who own most of the companies/software/infrastructure, are able to "disappear" whenever they want, because of course they can, they control everything
.........So yeah keep posting pics of your cat, or your morning shits, and plates of your food. Because the Government and Private Surveillance Corporations/Data Collection Agencies MUST KNOW OF SUCH THINGS.
I dunno, TBH, AI / DeepFake I find much more disturbing and world-destroying tech that is rapidly going out of control, right now, than ever-present surveillance. Hopefully, maybe, that level of contant-overwatch tech means that any deepfake shit can be countered.
