So yeah that Twitter thing
Apr. 26th, 2022 06:08 pmLike I needed another reason to not be on twitter.....
So....Um...here's the thing/thinking
Remember back in the early 90s when Mega Corps were getting their asses sued and, sometimes, broken-up because of Monopoly laws and regulations?
Like, Microsoft?
So....Um...What the fuck happened to that.
All this talk about Orange Turdface and how he's always failing at business ventures / or backing out of them, not just to avoid the taxes and legal ramifications, but, also to skirt the Monopoly regulations.
Also remember a few years ago all that talk about how China "owned" all the US Debt or whatever it was about.
I'm wondering if we're going to see within 5-7 years people like Musk & Bezos with so much goddamn motherfucking money that they would be able to buy the entire United States and there would be NOTHING anyone could do to stop them.
They've already "bought" themselves out of legal ramifications, and tax evasion on a ridiculous level (never mind the 5000lbs gorilla fact that actually paying those taxes would still be a drop in their bucket), so isn't this the next level? The next step? The next Vanity Purchase for them?
...I mean, if they haven't already.
....Since that seemed to work out so well for ENRON, the Koch brothers, the Walmart family
also also: I'm pretty sick & tired of living in this Comic-Book-Villian-For-Realsies existence.
Watchmen has already happened. (they even made a movie about it)
Judge Dredd has already happened and continues unabated. (despite the scathing sarcasm against it)
Lex Luthor, Doctor Doom, Tony Stark they already exist, and they have even less care for the World than their comic-book versions. At least even someone like Doctor Doom had a compassion for his own private country, despite the Power Cosmic fucking with his brain.
Or maybe this is the Rise of the Daleks timeline/dimension. We're getting so fucking lazy soon we'll have vehicles that take us everywhere, we won't need to drive our own cars or walk on our own feet, we'll just be encased in our little rolling boxes with our plungers
