Resistance

I'd LIKE to think that if a handful of techbro twerps showed up at the office, illegally entered, and told me that the company was being put on "administrative leave" or some illegal bullshit, with fake official-looking paperwork, and told me I needed to get up from my desk and they'd be taking control of my computer or something....Illegally.

I'd LIKE to think I'd tell them to go fuck off a cliff and leave me alone.
....And that I'd refuse to leave.

I'd even like to think I'd threaten or outright beat the shit out of them and physically throw them out of the office.

Although it sounds like some agencies have had Federal agents and police storm in and physically remove workers, but not sure how "true" this is.


There was an incident at the auction house a few years ago when a Federal law was passed about the possession, buying & selling of Ivory art was deemed Super Duper Illegal and suddenly 5 Black SUVs showed up one day, blocked the front doors, and entered with like a dozen FBI and Environmental Police, in full-on Tactical gear, and strongly asked everyone at the company to immediately leave their desks, not to touch anything, and to be escorted to the upstairs auction room, where we were....Well....Detained....For something like 2 hours.

I was doing Inventory out on the floor at the time and heard something odd over the PA system but didn't think anything of it, until a guy in Tactical gear suddenly turned the corner and strongly advised me to move along. I asked if I should grab my wallet & keys and he was slightly annoyed but said yes, as they may have us leave for the day and we wouldn't be allowed back downstairs to our desks. (honestly amazed he was "allowed" to say that much)

I honestly don't remember, but I think we were sent home early. They commandeered the computer systems and apparently literally spent the night going over records and paperwork and servers. Apparently they ordered a ton of pizzas as there were boxes left for the maintenance guy (who didn't speak much English) to take care of the next morning.




As for whatever's happening in D.C. right now, I can't be sure because I don't trust the Media and not much trust in accounts from FB.

But, what I imagine is that this is a bit different, with a bunch of....Teenagers....Waltzing in like they own the place and demand to take over the systems, etc.

I mean, how hard is it to take a bunch of TechBros in Techbro clothing, seriously.
I have my doubts.

I also just thought, I'd like to think I'd try to pull a fast-one if I could see things unfolding, to go to (my) computer and either download a bunch fo viruses and/or porn, to fuck with the techbros.

(I remember now, one of the fire alarms at college my senior year in the third-rate party dorm, the students across from me decided to have some fun, put on a porn video and cranked the volume before exiting the building. They thought it was hilarious. Never heard from the firemen if they were amused, as the fire alarms being pulled and/or set off by asshole students was almost a weekly occurrence, and they were never happy to see us when they'd pull up.)


But the tactic seems to be "working", despite it being 100% illegal. And unfortunately the people in Congress who are trying to "fight back" and call to action, aren't being loud enough nor effective.
And that we are being drowned in the flood of red. As promised.
