Thanks to a random scroll-past on IG just now

I just learned about the Allende Meteorite, which I did not know about before until just now.

Apparently it's been dated to some 4.567 Billion years old.

Wait....WHAT?1

Not sure how they were able to determine that date.

But, holy fuck is that old.

It was also observed falling through the atmosphere in February of...1969
The same year as Apollo 11. And just before Apollo 9.

I dunno, I just find that baffling and amazing. That something from or thought to be from the very beginning of...time...passed through just as we had finally made the effort (and had the capability) to go to the Moon, which is allegedly some 50 million years old.

Also, thanks to Wikipedia for having the ability to quickly search this kind of information. For all its faults, sometimes it's just so awesome to be able to find info this fast.
